Born June 29, in the early 80’s with a physical disability (short right arm with two fingers.) Joshua Alcide also known as Logan has been signing since he can remember. Logan never let his unique physique stop him from sharing his talent with the world. Growing up on Logan Street in East New York with five siblings his singing career began in church as a soloist and later on with the choir. Logan wrote his first secular song called “Why Did You Leave Me’’ in the fifth grade for a talent show which wowed his teachers and fellow peers because of his strong vocals and commanding stage presence. Logan continued to sing in church but by the age of eleven his songs and poetry began to focus on girls. Logan’s earlier songs and poems were personal, filled with his failures and triumphs in relationships.
By the age of 18, Logan was singing at weddings and church events for fun. It was not until his second year at Brooklyn College did Logan started to take his singing career seriously. Logan now living in Bed Stuyvesant was taken to Hilltop studios by an up and coming actor Sharod Folk to record the hook “Ma Chill” for Popping Brothers. Logan received a good response from the neighborhood and this prompted him to start recording his own songs .One day while recording at Hilltop Studios, Logan met his now mentor Lord Vital. Lord Vital a talented artist and songwriter taught Logan how to write a song with structure and how to build a record vocally.
A demo was the next logical thing for Logan to do. So Logan started recording and in no time recorded an eight song demo. The demo caught the attention of Low-key (a producer looking for talent). The two combined to form LO-LO the super duo. A year later the two dropped an album called LO-LO & MYFAM with other featured artists. The LO-LO & MYFAM album was well received on the college circuit and received airtime on college radio. Two songs from the album was played on over 200 college radio stations and peaked at #1 on over 25 stations. The album was also played on over 10 mainstream radio stations across the country and it was charted #4 on the CMJ charts. As a result of the album’s success MYFAM PRODUCTIONS the production company transformed into MYFAM PRODUCTIONS INC the record label .The super duo of Logan and Low-key (LO-LO) have performed at different venues for many industry professionals showing their great performing ability. Logan still sings solo and in 2009 he released his first video single “love connection”. Love Connection received love from over 5 blog-sites and two websites including worldstarhiphop.com. In 2009 Logan was placed in the top three for the Best of the Boroughs showcase and was nominated as one of the top ten artists for the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program. Logan has big plans for 2010 with his soon to be smash single called “Blow Your Mind” featuring the legendary Delfonics.
