BX Nena From the Hip-Hop capital of the world, New York City comes BX Nena, also known as DA Bronx Bomber. BX Nena made her start in the South Bronx, who some consider to be the melting pot for Hip-Hop and its birthplace. With an ear to the local music scene and a street swagger that could only come from the South Bronx, this NuYorican was on her way to bigger things.
First stop, South Carolina. In 2005 she made her way to the "Durrty Souf" to start her career. She didn't have to wait long. Her voice talent was noticed immediately by an ATL Program Director, Mr. Smith, who saw potential in BX Nena. He gave her a gig on mainstream radio on WDAI 98.5 Kiss FM and she became the voice of the Grand Strand-Myrtle beach, SC every Saturday afternoon. Then taking part in a mixshow called the Fresh Party, where the indie scene would have it's artists showcased via interview. A local artist would also get exposure during Local Love Fridays, in which a local track would be premiered every Friday night. During the show BX Nena worked with the Ruff Ryder's, DJ Skerge 1, and the Grand Strands Rider Man, Billy Bloc-O.
After her tenure with WDAI 98.5 Kiss FM, BX Nena picked up a hosting gig for her very own weekday mid-day show entitled Da Midday Takeova, broadcasted on WSEA-FM Power 100.3 from 10am-2pm, having exlusive interviews with Grand Hustle artists to Cassidy to DMX to even as old school as DMC from RUNDMC.
Now back on her home turf, of NYC, she is continuosly working with an array of underground and independent artists and fellow DJs. Also assisting the CEO of 3A films!, whom produce and direct music videos and independent movies & handles production for Nena's own JunkieTV show (youtube.com/realhiphopjunkietv). She is also the CEO to her own brand/webiste, RealHipHopJunkie, Inc. and also linked up with EmbassyNYCRadio & the Bumsquad DJs as a host of her own Mix Show.
BX is always on the forefront of whats hot and whats new and has come a long way from her humble beginnings and will continue to impact the underground music scene on the east coast and beyond.
