On October 16th, the Def Jam Recordings 30th Anniversary Concert will invade Brooklyn's Barclays Center with a huge slate of hip-hop's finest. Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Method Man, Redman, Foxy Brown and more have all been confirmed, with tickets on sale August 22nd. (Pre-ordering Def Jam 30 will give fans an access code to a special pre-sale on August 20th.)
"It’s very exciting to be able to be part of such a special announcement that solidifies and continues forward the enduring mark the brand has made on pop culture," Steve Bartels, CEO of Def Jam Recordings, said in a statement.
The all-star event will honor the history and impact Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons' legendary label has had on the rap game, from Beastie Boys, Public Enemy and LL Cool J to Kanye West, Nas and Iggy Azalea. Also on board for the one-night-only concert are OGs like Onyx, Warren G and EPMD alongside Fabolous, DMX, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Jhene Aiko and Jeremih. The show curiously omits any artists from the label's first five years, though more acts are set to be announced at a later date.
